other utility companies would be involved, working to prevent any conflicts or damage that might come
about from other utility companies installation or repair.
- Responsible for knowledge of any location needed to create new lines at existing access points,
repair or troubleshooting of existing lines.
- Used OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) to analyze both new lines and existing lines,
in an effort to identify any problem areas, and also to determine the length of existing cable and termination points.
- Spliced fiber optic lines together using a fusion splice
- Installed lines to new customers into existing fiber optic networks
- Installed fiber optic media equipment in customer locations and access points such as
routers, switches, and controllers
- Installed fiber optic lines using a blown fiber system through underground and hanging (aerial) conduit
- Worked to create a management system to keep track of all hardware and supply inventory.
